2023 is turning out to be a year full of highly anticipated albums. With pandemic restrictions experienced around the world, musicians and artists took to their craft and gave their works extra love and undivided attention. Now fans will get to hear the brilliant collections artists have put together.
Here's a run down of some of your favourite musicians dropping albums this year.
Two of the highly anticipated albums have already been released. Szigeti Juli's Wild & Groovy in March. And The Swing Bot dropped Art Disco in February.
Everyone's favourite moustache disguised DJ/Producer, The Swing Bot, released Art Disco back in February. Already a clear frontrunner for album of the year, Art Disco has garnered more than 5 million streams and spent its first seven weeks at number 1 on the iSwing Album Chart. Art Disco blends House, Electronic and Jazz into catchy bangers that fit just as nicely in underground after hours clubs as they would on Pop Radio. Any dance music collection would be uncomfortable without The Swing Bot's Art Disco album.
Szigeti Juli's Wild & Groovy dropped in March and instantly became a trending sensation. Racking up 2 million streams, the smooth and sultry collection of songs on Wild & Groovy are clever, captivating and compliment lead singer Juli Szigeti's distinctive voice. The new album includes Szigeti Juli's biggest hits and belongs on everyone's Spring playlists. Raise a cup and enjoy the Wild & Groovy album.
Festival circuit favourites, Hippo Soundsystem bring their new album, Origins, to life in April. Lead by DJ Hiphoppapotamus, Hippo Soundsystem bring a lively touch to catchy earworms with a variety of diverse musicians picked up along the way.
Also arriving in April are The Rin Tins who follow up their Without Further Ado album.
And we also can't forget DJ Mibor's album coming in late April. Easy breezy Summer bangers and special appearances will be expected having worked his production magic with the likes of The Puppini Sisters, Alanna Lyes, Bart & Baker, Lamuzgueule, Offbeat, Tallulah Goodtimes, Tape Five, Godbiz and Wolfgang Lohr. DJ Mibor has a golden touch and can turn anything into a serious chart topper and club hit so the album should be amazing. Summer earworms incoming.
This album should be huge. Lamuzgueule's, I Am Anachronic, arrives May 5. The French Electro Swingers are going for a high energy club friendly sound on their new album and recently gave fans a sneak peek at the tracklist and heavily styled Art Deco album cover. The upcoming album also features The Swing Bot who guests on the super high energy new single, "Pleins Phares."
Yabloko Moloko drops his latest album in June. The DJ/Producer recently signed with Freshly Squeezed Records and just dropped latest single, "The Outsider." Adding a dark groovy twist to his already unique style, Yabloko Moloko is sure to attract new fans with this new sound. The music video for, "The Outsider," is also garnering some sweet attention for its high tech futuristic theme and sophisticated noir animation.
Recently releasing the lush artwork for their next album, Villain, and new tour dates, Dutty Moonshine Big Band tease us with a much too far away September release date. Expect some heavy bangers to be dropped before September from these festival favourites.
Full Tilt Collective EP Raise The Roof later this year. Lead by new single, "Insane Again" the EP features a trio of tasty horn heavy tracks. Also includes the underrated b-side banger, "O.T.T. (One Tonne Tone)."
Cut Capers are dropping their new album Sightseeing & Short Negotiations in the Fall. They just announced an Autumn tour in support of the new album so grab your tickets before they sell out.
And a favourite on everyone's list, Caravan Palace are also expected to drop new music in the very near future.
