Welcome back to The iSwing Top 40.
This is the final weekend of the year. I'll be breaking down 2019's biggest songs in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back to see how your favourite artists and songs do.
Six songs join us this week. The first comes in at number 40. "Jingle Bells," by Wolfgang Lohr, Balduin and Scarlett Quinn land this Holiday club classic at opening position.
The latest from Emma Clair, "Need To Swing," comes in at 38.
Bing Crosby, The London Symphony Orchestra and The Puppini Sisters bring "The Twelve Days Of Christmas," to number 36.
ADLN's, "Remove It (Hey Alan! Electro Swing Mix)" comes in at 33. And Tape Five score a fifth banger from The Roaring 2020's album. "Happy" stops at 24.
Top swinging entry this week belongs to Little Violet. "Silent Movie" zooms all the way to a 15 entry. Little Violet hit number 3 back in October with the delightful, "Swinging Melodies."
Just below the Top 10 at number 11, is Wolfgang Lohr, Varrick Frost and Alanna Lyes with the Eurythmics remake, "Sweet Dreams." It reaches its new high after nine weeks. With Holiday music disappearing next week, "Sweet Dreams" is definitely in line for a Top 10 trip.
Matt Forbes finally cracks the Top 10 with the sexy ballad, "Mad About You" at 10. And "Welcome To The Brass Department (Klischee Remix)" by Brass Department, Marena Whitcher and Rootwords climbs from 16 to 9. Tuxedo Junction's, "Mr Business" moves from 11 to 6 to complete the three newcomers to the Top 10.
Big swinging shout out goes to Tuxedo Junction. Groovy, naughty and not to be missed. Their latest EP, The Next Big Swing, is a mini collection of raunchy joy. It's the hot mess you need in your life right now. Get it where you buy music. It's on Ragtime Records.

Ana Gasteyer's, "Sugar And Booze" does a four position nosedive to 8. And Fabian Scheuerlein & Balduin do the same but stop at 7.
Emma Clair is still in full banger mode. "Time To Fly," rebounds from 6 to 5.
Jojo Effect and Dennis LeGree creep to number 4 with, "Swing It Up (Zouzoulectric Remix)."
Lyre Le Temps jump four spots to 3 with, "Boogie Wonderland." Honky Crew and Lil' Hardin Armstrong fall to 2 with their Number 1, "Harlem Nights." And as expected, Tape Five take over the throne with a song destined to be a Roaring Twenties anthem, "Party Like It's 1929."
Can Tape Five ring in the twenties by hanging on for a second week or will there be a new number one? Swing back next week for a new iSwing Top 40.
I'm JC JSum.
Keep your head in the clouds and keep swinging for the stars.

Welcome back to the last iSwing Holiday Top 40 for the year. I'm JC JSum.
It's the final weekend of the year and there's not a lot of action. Only one song joins the Top 40 this week. It's Varrick Frost's remix of Bing Crosby and The Andrew Sisters' "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," at number 11.
The only new song in the Top 10 this week is Bing Crosby with The London Symphony Orchestra and The Puppini Sisters performing, "The Twelve Days Of Christmas." It jumps from 13 to 9.
Last week's Number One, "I Got My Love To Keep Me Warm," by Edina Menzel and Billy Porter, falls to number three. And instant holiday classic, "Sugar And Booze" from Ana Gasteyer steps up to two.
Father Funk makes a big nine position jump to Number 1 with, "Christmas In Mos Eisley."
The iSwing Holiday Top 40 will return again in the spooky month of October 2020. No worries though, the weekly iSwing Top 40 will be here for your Electro Swing amusement.
Until then, keep your head in the clouds and keep swinging for the stars.

Happy Holidays and welcome back to The iSwing Top 40. I'm JC JSum.
Two more weeks to go and we'll be entering a new year and decade. I'll be breaking down the best of the year, best of the decade, predictions for 2020 and much more. So check back regularly for iSwing blog posts.
Six songs join us this week. The first comes in at number 38 by Father Funk. "Christmas In Mos Eisley" is Father Funk's first appearance since 2017 when he made three appearances. As remixer on Betty Wright's, "Clean Up Woman"; Ray Charles', "I Got A Woman"; and Electric Swing Circus', "Empires."
Christmas fever is everywhere and with the recent announcement of Mariah Carey taking 25 years to hit number one with, "All I Want For Christmas," in the U.S., the song swings onto our chart as well at 32.
LadBaby land in front of Mariah, at 31, with their latest charity single, "I Love Sausage Rolls (Swing Version)."
Tape Five score a fourth Top 40 from their latest album, The Roaring 2020's. "Once Upon A Summernight," featuring Mica Dulce comes in at 26.

And a big shout out goes to Tape Five, they recently released, The Roaring 2020's Extended Versions. Be sure to hit your local Speakeasy's with fresh shoes because you'll be wearing your soles out with this one.
Brass Department, Marena Whitcher and Rootwords arrive at 16 with the very addictive, "Welcome To The Brass Department (Klischee Remix)."
And the top swinging entry just misses the Top 10. "Mr Business," by Tuxedo Junction comes in at number 11. Tuxedo Junction hit number one last year with, "Nigels Greasy Sack."
Three songs crash the Top 10. Idina Menzel and Billy Porter jump from 17 to 9 with, "I Got My Love To Keep Me Warm." Lyre Le Temps move from 11 to 7 with their fourth Top 10 this year, "Boogie Wonderland." And Ana Gasteyer rebounds back into the Top 10 to land at number 4 with, "Sugar And Booze." It also peaked at number 4 last month.
It was an extremely narrow finish for the top spot this week but Honky Crew take the lead for a second week with, "Harlem Nights." Tape Five will have to settle for runner-up with, "Party Like It's 1929."
Will Tape Five top the iSwing Top 40 next week? Read back next week for a new iSwing Top 40.
This is JC JSum. Remember to keep your head in the clouds and keep swinging for the stars.

Welcome back to The iSwing Top 40. I'm JC JSum.
Six songs join the Top 40 this week. Half of which are Christmas songs. The first comes in at number 40. It's a new remix of Eartha Kitt's, "Santa Baby" by DJ ZsuZsu & Wolfgang Lohr.
Postmodern Jukebox and Lauren Tyler Scott arrive with their very charming remake of, "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas," at 36. Postmodern Jukebox also climb a little closer to the Top 10 with the Lizzo remake of "Juice," with Mario Jose at number 13. Scott Bradlee, creator of Postmodern Jukebox, also releases new solo material this week in honour of his Father who recently passed away. The album is called For Dad and is a touching tribute to his well loved Father.

Coming in at 35 is Lyre Le Temps with, "Just A Gigalo" and Alex Pangman returns with, "Hummin To Myself." Her version of "Hummin'" reached the top 10 back in April. Pisk climbs to number 28 with his club friendly version of the song.
Swing Republic and Patti Page also make a reappearance in the Top 40 with, "Boogie Woogie Santa." It's the fourth year in a row for "Boogie Woogie" to chart.
And speaking of Boogie, Lyre Le Temps arrive with their second new Top 40 this week and it's the top swinging debut. "Boogie Wonderland," just misses the Top 10 to bullet at number 11. And yes they dared to remake the Earth Wind & Fire classic. All is well though because Lyre rebound within the Top 10 with, "Smile For A Minute" to stop at number 6.
"Boogie Wonderland" and "Just A Gigalo" are from Lyre Le Temps' new album, My Generation.
Two songs enter Top 10 territory this week. The Jive Aces score their second Top 10 with, "Bad News," at number 9. Back in January 2018, The Jive Aces and DJ Maksy reached the Top 10 with, "Love Me Or Leave Me."
The second song to make the Top 10 is from Jojo Effect and Dennis LeGree. "Swing It Up (Zouzoulectric Remix)" jumps from 15 to 8. It's the first Top 10 for each. Zouzoulectric's only other appearance in the Top 40 is from April of 2018 when, "Imperfection (Radio Edit)," featuring Wolfgang Lohr and Balduin, made it to number 1.
As for action at the top of the chart, Honky Crew and Lil Hardin Armstrong push their way forward to claim the number 1 spot with, "Harlem Nights." This is Honky Crew's first number 1. They first reached the Top 10 back in January with, "Back To The Old School." As for Lil Hardin', her last visit was back in July of 2016 with the number 1, "Born To Swing (Catjam Remix)" In the Electro Swing Era, Lil Hardin' Armstrong now has three number 1's. The first dating back to April 2013 when, "Booty Swing (Tits And Clits Remix)" topped the chart with Parov Stelar.

Will Honky Crew and Lil Hardin' Armstrong hang on to number 1 for a second week? Will Tape Five or Fabian Scheuerlein steal the crown next week? Check back next week for a new iSwing Top 40.

Thanks for returning to The iSwing Top 40. I'm JC JSum.
Big shout out to the latest Electro Swing Party Volume 2 compilation. Compiled by Bart&Baker, it features a ton of swinging hits from Cut Capers, Emma Clair, OB3one, Little Violet, Pisk and many many more. It's the perfect gift for anyone who likes to swing.

Five songs join the Top 40 this week. The first is the only Christmas song. "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," by Renee Zellweger and Rufus Wainwright comes in at 37. This is the fourth iSwing Top 40 from the soundtrack, Judy. "Have Yourself," stands a good chance of making the Top 10, as all the songs to appear in the Top 40 from the album have made it there. "For Once In My Life","Get Happy" with Sam Smith, and "The Trolley Song," have all made the Top 10 in the last couple of months.
The second new song to join us is Riff Kitten's, "Swag Rag," landing at number 34. It's his first Top 40. Early chart figures show "Swag Rag" should do well in the coming weeks. It's got a real backroom-speakeasy vibe to it, so flappers and swingers will like this one.
Pisk's latest, "Hummin' To Myself," zooms and parks at number 32. This is Pisk's thirteenth iSwing Top 40. Pisk's past bangers include, "Jungle Swing","One Steady Roll" and the number one hit, "Minnie The Moocher." He's also brought genius to his collaborations helping Jamie Berry, Stuff Smith, Octavia Rose, Caro Emerald and The Sweet Life Society all land Top 40 positions.
(And also featured on Electro Swing Party Volume 2) His Remix of Cut Capers' latest track, "Say What" also climbs to number five this week. And did I mention, he's a member of Electro Swing legends, The Swingrowers? We're dealing with Electro Swing Royalty when we discuss Pisk.
Milk & Sugar's, "Hey (Nah Neh Nah)" featuring Viya Con Dios, returns this week to land at number 30. It first charted back in 2011 and is arguably known as the track that started the modern Electro Swing movement. Regardless, " Nah Neh Nah" inspired a lot of happy feet and interesting remakes throughout the decade. Fabian Scheuerlein and Balduin's vesion climbs to number seven.
Top swinging entry belongs to Glenn Gatsby. "I Wonder Where" lands at 27. Glenn's most recent appearance was a few weeks ago when his remix of "Spooky Scary Skeletons" by Andrew Gold reached number 16.
Matt Forbes slowly continues to climb with the sultry, "Mad About You," at number 14. "Mad About You," has a strong James Bond movie theme kind of quality to it. Speaking of James Bond, the trailer for the latest 007 movie, No Time To Die, dropped this week.

Keep checking the blog. In the coming weeks, I'll have a piece about Electro Swing artists that should cover Bond music and/or play Bond villains.
No Time To Die comes out April 2020.
Minimatic's, "Cinnamon Song" leaps into the Top 10 to land at 9. It's the only new entry in the Top 10
Tape Five edge forward with, "Party Like It's 1929," at number 3 . The Swing Bot stays at number 2 with, "Deuce Overdose." And Emma Clair remains on top for a second week with, "Time To Fly."
Will Emma Clair hang on to number 1 for a third week? Will Tape Five, Honky Crew or Balduin steal the throne? Check back next week for a new iSwing Top 40.
This is JC JSum. Remember to keep your head in the clouds and keep swinging for the stars.

Welcome back to the iSwing Top 40. For those not in the know, iSwing is a blog that features a Top 40 of mostly Electro Swing and Modern Jazz music remixed with a dash of Electro Blues, Classics and Classics remixed. Kind of the official unofficial top 40 of Electro Swing swingers. So now you're in the know.
Top swinging entry belongs to Deladap and Melinda Stoika at number 15, with, "Music Has The Power (Wolfgang Lohr Remix)."
Cut Capers finally crack the top 10 after jumping around the top 40 for the last seven weeks. They rise with, "Say What (Pisk Electro Swing Remix)" at number 9. On a sidenote, Pisk dropped a couple of singles this week, so expect some bangers to pop into the Top 40 soon.
Honky Crew have two boppers climbing in the Top 40. "Harlem Nights," featuring Lil Hardin Armstrong jumps to number 6, and "Jungle Jig," featuring Dorothy Dandridge is sitting at 17. Eight new entries arrive this week. Dr Fre, Jamie Berry, Octavia Rose, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer and Serena Ryder make appearances in the bottom portion.
The Jive Aces' latest release, "Bad News" comes in at 34. And if there's anyone that can get people to dance to bad news, it's definitely The Jive Aces.
Minimatic arrives with, "Cinnamon Song" at number 30. "Cinnamon" has been in the Holiday Top 10 for the last two weeks.
The Joker Soundtrack provides another Top 40 song. This time around, Lawrence Welk's, "The Moon Is A Silver Dollar" comes on. It lands at number 21.
Back in the top ten, Tape Five push forward with, "Party Like It's 1929." It stops at number 4. Lyre Le Temps are at 3 with, "Smile For A Minute. It moves up one spot.
Sadly, The Swing Bot falls to number 2 with, "Deuce Overdose." It spent one week on top.
After the latest figures were calculated, Emma Clair just barely takes the lead for the week. The DJ's latest banger, "Time To Fly" jumps from 3 to 1, marking three number 1's in a row for Emma. "Move Your Feet (Club Mix)" reached the top in October. "Thriller Hands" reached number 1 in November. And now, "Time To Fly" tops the chart, leaving Emma with a number 1 three months in a row. Will Emma make it four months in a row? It's quite possible for it to happen because she has new music coming out later this month.
Will Emma Clair hang on to number 1 for a second week? Will Tape Five snatch the throne? Check back next week for a new iSwing Top 40. And keep your head in the clouds and keep swinging for the stars.
