iSwing Top 40 March 29, 2020

iSwing Top 40
March 29, 2020

Welcome back swingers. I'm your host JC JSum.
Juda-Bug topped the iSwing chart last week with banger, "Here We Go Again." Will they hang on again for a second week?
Six new songs enter the chart this week. First up at number 37, MelleeFresh and SpekrFreks with their second collaboration, "Bee's Knees (Original Mix)." Their former Number 1, "Murder (Extended Mix)," is sitting at number 10 this week.
Captain Flatcap arrives at number 30 with, "Fowl Play." His third Top 40 appearamce.
Hans Wachsmann comes in with his first solo Top 40. The very catchy, "Delirium" lands at 28.
Partying in at number 26 are ASM, Youthstar, Illaman, Chinese Man, Scratch Bandits Crew and Baja Frequencia with, "Party At Jay's."
Hypeman Sage and Kormac return with the mashup, "Wash My Swing Thing." It originally charted back in 2016. It returns, gaining momentum from the current viral threat going around.
Hypeman Sage recently teamed with Dutty Moonshine Big Band on, "Big Band Fam," which reached the Top 10 last month.
Top Swinging Entry this week belongs to Mr Jazzek and Felipe Cespedes. Their viral hit, "Funiculi Funicula," comes in at number 11. The music video features a collection of clips from Italy of people on their balconies singing and dancing all across the country uniting in song during the current corona crisis.
Mr Jazzek has been jumping around the Top 40 for the last few weeks with, "Oriental Swing" featuring Lil Hardin Armstrong. It's currently sitting at number 34.
Kormac's, "Wash My Hands" jumps into the Top 10 at 9. I don't have to remind you how this classic Electro Swing track returned to the chart.
Defunk, Meghan Hamilton and Wes Writer slip down to 8 with, "Can't Buy Me (Bugle Bot & Cryztal Grid Remix)."
Parov Stelar's latest, "Brass Devil" lifts 12 to 7 becoming his 26th Top 10.
Little Violet rebounds back up, into the Top 10 this week. "Limits (Jamie Berry Remix)" nosedived to position 20 last week. It dashes up to number 6 this week.
Varrick Frost and Lawrence Lea step up a couple spots to 5 with, "Fever (Papa Django Remix)."
Offbeat and Odd Chap jump four spots to land at 4 with the absolutely hilarious novelty hit, "My Gym."
I hope you didn't think I forgot this week's Big Swinging Shoutout. I haven't. This week it goes to...

...The Puppini Sisters & The Pasadena Roof Orchestra. Their Dance Dance Dance album just dropped and it's got some delicious sparkly gems. Anybody daring enough to swing Dolly, Gaga and Whitney onto one album are superstars themselves. Certainly worth adding to your corona lockdown soundtrack collection.
The first single from Dance Dance Dance, the Whitney Houston cover, "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," makes a giant leap from 21 to 3 this week.
Stepping one spot up to 2, is Little Violet's, "Silent Movie (Odd Chap Remix)." It's been in the Top 10 for three weeks now.
And topping the chart for a second week is Juda-Bug's, "Here We Go Again." Juda-Bug and Little Violet were neck and neck all week until Juda-Bug dropped the smokin' hot animated music video for "Here We Go Again." Giving them the edge to easily top the iSwing chart for a second week.

iSwing Top 40
March 22, 2020

Welcome back to the blog swingers. I'm your host JC JSum.
MelleeFresh and SpekFreks killed it at the top of the chart last week with their hit "Murder." Can they hang on for a second week?
Starting off the Top 40 this week is the latest from Duke Skellington. He teamed with Alanna Lyes, and they molded together a great bopper called, "My Mind." It's one of six new entries this week.
Duke also debuts at number 23 with banger, "Dames." Both tracks are from his latest EP Devils, Dames N Debauchery.
Pairing up again are Wolfgang Lohr and Offbeat. They released a very happy seasonal track to swing in Spring titled, "Swing In Spring." It's new at 38 and features singer Nina Zeitlin. Wolfgang and Offbeat teamed up last year for the Number 1, "Very Nice People."
Wolfgang also stops outside of the Top 10, at number 11, with "My 20's Woman" featuring Phos Toni.
Varrick Frost's latest, "Luci's Game," comes in at 37. It's been jumping around outside the Top 40 for a couple weeks and finally reaches the Top 40.
Richard Cheese has the fifth of six entries this week. "Down With The Sickness," comes in strong at 16.
This week's Big Swinging Shoutout goes to...

...Thomas Benjamin Wild.
Thomas released his latest album A Quiet Night In, this week and I must say it couldn't come at a more convenient time. With a good portion of the world stuck indoors, because of the corona virus lockdown, Thomas gives us a fantastic and needed escape. Tracks like "Oh Social Media"; "Stop Being An Arsehole," and "Pants Drunk" are the clever upbeat songs we need to get through this lockdown.
Thomas also sits at number 15 this week with, " No More Fcks (Stevie Jay Flip)."
Top Swinging Entry belongs to another song inspired by the corona virus pandemic and it's a former Number 1 from May of 2013. Kormac returns with the appropriately titled, "Wash My Hands.' It debuts at 13.
Spending their seventh week in the Top 10 is Cut Capers with, "Let's Start Again (Odd Chap Electro Swing Remix)." The former Number 1 slips 8 to 10.
Oh My God It's The Church drops to 9 with the Duke Skellington remix of, "Where Did You Get Those (Shoes)."
Offbeat and Odd Chap jump from 14 to 8 with their second Top 10 together, "My Gym." Their collaboration, "Weekend Living," was a chart topper for the pair exactly three years ago.
Varrick Frost and Lawrence Lea climb from 22 to 7 with, "Fever (Papa Django Remix)."
11 Acorn Lane slip a spot to 6 with their latest, "Mellow Mouser."
Defunk, Megan Hamilton and Wes Writer jump into the Top 10 with, "Can't Buy Me (Bugle Bot & Cryztal Grid Remix)." The Swing/Hop track lands at number 5. It's a first time appearance for the lot except Megan. She and Flavours reached number 4 last March with, "Hypnosis."
Last week's Number 1, "Murder (Extended Mix)," by MelleeFresh and SpekrFreks falls to 4 after spending a week on top.
Little Violet jumps seven positions to number 3 with the highly contagious, "Silent Movie (Odd Chap Remix)." For Odd Chap, this gives him his first triple Top 10 week. He's featured on Cut Capers, "Let's Start Again," at 10 and with Offbeat's, "My Gym," sitting at number 8.
Holding at number 2 for a second week is OR3O with, "Help Me."
And stepping into Number 1 is Juda-Bug with Swing/House banger, "Here We Go Again." It's Juda-Bug's first appearance on top. "Here We Go Again" is from Juda-Bug's upcoming album tentatively titled The Bug Is Out due later this year.

iSwing Top 40
March 15, 2020

Welcome back to the blog swingers. I'm your host JC JSum.
SwingHoppers hopped their way to the top of the chart last week, can they hang on for a second week?
A whopping ten new songs join the list this week and corona virus fever impacts the chart, so let's get started.
Riff Kitten's, "She'll Make You Lose Your Mind," is the first of the new entries and it enters at 39. Riff Kitten reached the Top 10 last month with, "Swag Rag."
Georgia Gibbs is next up. She comes in with, "Tra La La (James Jive Edit)," landing at number 36.
The James Jive, Eminem and Electric Swing Circus mashup of "Lose Yourself To Bella Belle," is still going strong at number 26.
Parov Stelar's latest banger, "Brass Devil," comes in at 35.
Alex Pangman steps in and stops at 33 with , "I'm All Dressed Up With A Broken Heart."
Corona virus is impacting the world and our chart as well. Two songs titled "Fever" enter this week. Dutty Moonshine Big Band and Crash Party land at 32, and Varrick Frost and Lawrence Lea stop at 22. I'd expect more titles relating to symptoms and illness will become popular in the coming weeks. Even if they aren't related to illness, like Dutty Moonshine Big Band's "Fever."
OB3one comes in at 31 with "Body Swinging." It's the third Top 40 from OB3one's album, Masquerade. "Thievin'" and "Paradiso," both charted from the album last year.
Wolfgang Lohr and Phos Toni team up to bring, "My 20's Woman.". It lands at number 23.
Postmodern Jukebox recently covered "Wannabe," the Spice Girls hit, and it stops at 20.
This week's Big Swinging Shoutout goes to...

...Good Co.
The U.S. based, Electro Swing Band's latest, So Pretty, brings the charm of their live shows to the studio and captures it masterfully. You'll want to gather good company, grab a table, order drinks and kiki the night away with this album. The perfect album for the time you'll be spending indoors.
Top Swinging Entry belongs to Offbeat and Odd Chap. Their clever Swing Hop bopper, "My Gym," debuts at 14.
Little Violet makes a gigantic leap from 36 to 10 with, "Silent Movie (Odd Chap Remix)" to start off the Top 10. Little Violet also holds the number 6 position with, "Limits (Jamie Berry Remix)."
Hanging on in the Top 10 for a seventh week is Caravan Palace's, "Melancolia." It sits at number 9.
Cut Capers drop from 6 to 8 with "Let's Start Again (Odd Chap Remix)."
SwingHoppers fall from the top, to stop at 7 with, "S Gon Give It To Ya."
Stepping away from their upbeat and Pop flavoured sound is 11 Acorn Lane. The very smooth and romantic "Mellow Mouser" jumps from 11 to 5.
Oh My God It's The Church jumps 9 to 4 with, "Where Did You Get Those (Shoes)(Duke Skellington Remix.)"
Juda-Bug climb 5 to 3 with, "Here We Go Again."
OR3O moves from 7 to 2 with, "Help Me."
And MelleeFresh and SpekrFreks step up one position to score their first Number 1 together with the very clubby, "Murder (Extended Mix)." It's MelleeFresh's first chart topper.
As for SpekrFreks this is their second chart topper. Exactly one year ago, SpekrFreks were in the middle of a three week run on top with, "Move On."

iSwing Top 40. March 8, 2020

iSwing Top 40
March 8, 2020

Welcome back to the blog swingers. I'm your host JC JSum.
Cut Capers ruled the iSwing chart last week. Can they hang on for a second week? Keep reading to find out.
Seven new entries this week. First up at 38, Ray Charles with, "Night Time Is The Right Time (Dave Wave Remix)"
Little Violet comes in with her latest and it is an epic collaboration. Epic enough to chart already after being released just a couple days ago. Odd Chap remixed her, "Silent Movie" and it debuts at 36.
Odd Chap doubles up on his debuts this week as well. Madam Misfit and Odd Chap enter at number 27 with the very frisky single, "Everybody Wants To Be A Cat.".
Matt Forbes remakes "Too Marvelous For Words," and it comes in at 32.
A bitter rumoured Public Enemy breakup was trending news for the rap group this week. They also debut on our chart for the first time. Papa Tony, Public Enemy and Hijack arrive at 31 with, "Kwinto Criminal." The rumour wasn't true.
And coasting in on momentum from his headlining gig at, Electro Swing Party Japan Volume 6, is Kiwistar. He arrives with his latest, "Whistling Journey," featuring Red Oak, Josh and Le Chat, at number 30. Clips from the highly successful party were trending all week.
Most of the entries take place in the bottom portion of the chart, with the exception of one. The "Evolution Of The Friends Theme Song," by Postmodern Jukebox and a host of big talent like Casey Abrams, Olivia Kuper Harris and The Rembrandts, is the Top Swingin' Debut this week. It lands at number 13.
The popular new version of the Friends Theme, is from the new album from Postmodern Jukebox, Back When They Called It Music 90's Volume 1.
Caravan Palace fall to number 10 with former Number 1, "Melancolia" to start off the Top 10.
This week's Big Swinging Shoutout goes to...

...Duke Skellington.
The Vaude Villainz music producer releases his first solo EP this week, Devils, Dames N Debauchery. Temperatures will rise with these sinfully delicious tracks. So hot, even climate change activists will picket them.
Sadly, the ultra funky, "Where Did You Get Those Shoes)(Duke Skellington Remix)," at number 9, isn't included on the EP. It's by Oh My God It's The Church and is the only song to enter the Top 10 this week.
Dutty Moonshine Big Band and Hypeman Sage spend a second week at 8 with their latest, "Big Band Fam."
OR3O jumps two positions to land at 7 with, "Help Me."
Last weeks Number 1, "Let's Start Again (Odd Chap Electro Swing Remix)," by Cut Capers falls to 6.
Juda-Bug jump five spots to number 5 with latest banger, "Here We Go Again."
Little Violet climbs three spots to 4 with, "Limits (Jamie Berry Remix)."
Varrick Frost's "Clockwork," spends time at number 3 for a second week. As do MelleeFresh and SpekrFreks with the underground speakeasy smash, "Murder (Extended Mix)." They spend a second week at number 2.
And the newest Number 1 belongs to first time chart toppers, SwingHoppers. I guess if you rap about going straight to the top, it happens. "S Gon Give It To Ya," makes a four position jump to take over the top spot. Jumping four positions into Number 1 is quite a feat this high up on the chart. The last song to do so, or better, was Emma Clair's, "Thriller Hands," which jumped from 8 to 1 the first week of November last year.

iSwing Top 40 March 1, 2020

iSwing Top 40
March 1, 2020

Caravan Palace occupied the top of the chart last week with, "Melancolia." Can they hang on for a second week?
Welcome back to the blog swingers. I'm your host JC JSum.
Five songs are new to the countdown this week. First up at 39, are Cut Capers with the Blackstreet remake of, "No Diggity." If you've ever seen Cut Capers live, you know "No Diggity" is a real crowd pleaser.
From the Jojo Rabbit Soundtrack comes a classic from 1937. Arriving appropriately at 37, is Chick Webb and Ella Fitzgerald's, "The Dipsy Doodle."
Thomas Benjamin Wild is right ahead at 36 with, "No More Fcks (Stevie Jay Flip)."
The fourth of the new entries belongs to 11 Acorn Lane. They bullet high at 14 with their latest, "Mellow Mouser."
This weeks Big Swinging Shoutout goes to...

...the novel, Threadbare: The Travelling Show.
In this romantic, Electro Swing, adventure, Alexandra Demers whisks us away to the 40's.
Times are hard, romance is alive and adventure is a plenty. You can hear the sounds of Electro Swing music while reading about the amazing adventures of Amandine in this gem of a novel. A couple of well set up plot twists and a colourful cast of characters will leave you more than satisfied.
It's from 2016 but well worth a revisit. And so looking forward to the sequel.
Threadbare is available on that Amazon thingy.
Back to the countdown.
Just outside the Top 10, at 12, Ariana Savalas rebounds back up with, "Legendary Lover." She just dropped new album, The Dead Dance, this weekend.
Top Swinging Entry belongs to Juda-Bug. If you like your Swing House hard, "Here We Go Again" is definitely for you. It starts off in the Top 10 this week at 10. It's the kind of jam you want to hear at the beginning of the night, to get you in the groove, and at the very end, when you make your moves.
"Here We Go Again," is Juda-Bug's second Top 10. They reached number 10 last April with, "Bumbum Bum."
And also scoring a second Top 10, is OR3O. She takes a giant leap from 24 to 9 with her latest banger, "Help Me." She spent most of last July in the Top 10 with, "All Eyes On Me."
Dutty Moonshine Big Band fans were blessed with a second single, and video, from their upcoming album, City Of Sin this week. The single called, "Fever" features Crash Party.
Dutty's latest, "Big Band Fam," is at number 8 this week.
Little Violet jumps from 15 to 7 with, "Limits (Jamie Berry Remix)." This is Violet's third visit to the Top 10. "Swinging Melodies," reached number 3 last October, and "Charleston Boogie (Seolo Remix)," hit Number 1 a year ago with Robert Edwards.
As for Jamie Berry, this is his eighth visit. Last visiting with his, "Light Up The Night," featuring Octavia Rose, which peaked at number 3 last October.
Former Number 1, "Twenties," by Wolfgang Lohr and Loredana Grimaudo slips from 3 to 6. It's now been in the Top 10 for seven weeks.
Last week's Number 1, "Melancolia" falls to number 5, by Caravan Palace.
Biggest jump within the Top 10 belongs to The SwingHoppers. They jump from 10 to 4 with, "S Gon Give It To Ya."
Varrick Frost steps up a spot, to 3, with sleeper hit, "Clockwork."
MelleeFresh and SpekrFreks move up into runner-up position with the very club friendly hit, "Murder (Extended Mix)."
And the latest song to take over the Number 1 position belongs to Cut Capers. "Let's Start Again (Odd Chap Electro Swing Remix)," lifts 2 to 1, becoming their first chart topper.
Odd Chap is no stranger to sitting on the throne. With the Cut Capers remix, this brings the popular Producer/DJ his seventh Number 1.

And for double exciting news, Duke Skellington drops his latest EP later this week. Duke is sitting at Number 22 as the remixer of Oh My God It's The Church's latest hit, "Where Did You Get Those (Shoes)."
And for triple exciting news, Parov Stelar will be dropping new music from volume two of his Voodoo Sonic series in a couple of weeks.
That's it for iSwing Top 40. Check back next week to see where your favourite songs are on the chart. Will Cut Capers hang on to Number 1, or will MelleeFresh and SpekrFreks steal the throne?
