The Week In Electro Swing

The Week In Electro Swing (3)

It Don't Mean A Thing Back At #1

The Hebbe Sisters are having a great month. They score their second #1 hit this month. The newly updated, "It Don't Mean A Thing (Electro Swing Mix)," featuring Wolfgang Lohr, rises to #1 in just its third week on the charts. The Hebbe Sisters also topped the chart at the beginning of the month with their swinging version of the Michael Jackson hit, "Billie Jean."

"It Don't Mean," was written by Duke Ellington back in the 1930's and has been covered by multiple artists over the years including The Mills Brothers, Tony Bennett, Nina Simone, Carmen McRae, The Muppets, Joe Jackson, Iggy Pop, Ella Fitzgerald and Lady Gaga.
For the prolific Wolfgang Lohr, his #1 hit from a year ago, "Make Swing Great Again," with Deladap and Melinda Stoika is featured in Season 2 of Netflix's Valeria. So be sure to listen for the hit next time your tv binging.
And expect a new song between Balduin and Wolfgang Lohr coming soon. Balduin announced the new collaboration on their social media, and yes, excitement and expectations are high.

Too Many Zooz take on Nirvana"s, "Smells Like Teen Spirit." The subway performing legends have broken out of the tunnels and onto the radio. These guys really rock the horns on this one. And ooh ooh that mullet.
They also sadly announced the cancellation of their upcoming tour dates so best wishes to the band.

Father Funk, one half of Tuxedo Junction, dropped new single, "I'm Back," this week and it's as funky as expected. I just might have to get out the old Jordan's and cardboard and bring back the classic break dancing moves.

If an album was suited to its title, Modal Projekt's new album Electronic Organic is perfectly named. The album is electronic, mystical, mesmerizing, organic, mysterious and made for heaven. Modal Projekt have mastered the art of breeding earworms on this one. You almost forget that it's kinda Jazzy to.

Dave Wave steps up his game and drops new single, "Dangerous." It's a catchy original tune so don't expect the usual campy and novelty remixes that Dave Wave is known for. It's a smokin' hot track and a welcome change of direction. Thanks Dave.

Happy 25th Anniversary to Jamiroquai's, "Virtual Insanity." The funky Pop hit made Jamiroquai an international name and horned hats cool again. It also introduced a new generation of fans to clubby jazz and R&B arrangements on Pop radio.
