The Week In Electro Swing (1)
Postmodern Jukebox Are back!
The world is slowly opening up and artists are starting to tour again. Dutty Moonshine Big Band, High Step Society, Father Funk and Swingrowers are just a few of the artists in the scene leading the way back to normal with live shows.
Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox are also back. With a world tour just announced, clever new choreographed videos and your favourite Pop music reimagined, the roaring 20s band are finally returning. The tour opens in Motown (Detroit, Michigan) in early October.
New video for, "Roaring 20s," The Panic! At The Disco hit, is absolutely everything.
Electro Swing Thing Records just announced singer Joyce Nuhill has joined the team. "She came from the past to get you jazzed," and if I know the team at Electro Swing Thing Records the Swing Hop singer will be tearing up the dance floors by Summer's end.
Those in the know might remember Joyce's funky version of, "Mr. Sandman," from a couple years back. Can't wait for these new collaborations.
Michael Jackson's hit, "Billie Jean," returns to #1. The 80s hit reimagined by Betty Booom, Slim Khezri and The Hebbe Sisters tops the charts once again. This time for an Electro Swing audience.
The popular Pop song reached #1 for Michael Jackson back in 1983.
The Hebbe Sisters might just be looking at a second #1 in the near future. Their new version of, "It Don't Mean A Thing," with Wolfgang Lohr, is burning up kitchen dance floors everywhere and could reach the top of the charts by months end.
Work it sisters.
Varrick Frost we missed you. It's been quite a few months since we heard new music from Varrick. Thank goodness Varrick just dropped a new tune. "Rascal," is an upbeat bopper reminiscent of old school midways and carnivals. The type of song that grows on you while strapped into wobbly merry-go-rounds with friends.
Welcome back Varrick.
Lili Mizusaki dropped a new music video, "Over Soul." Featuring her friends and their fantastic finger choreography, it's easy to see why we love Lily.
Jamie Berry also snuck in new music this week. Teaming with Octavia Rose again, "Make Me Believe," is a prime example of when Swing mets Pop music. Absolutely delicious for Summer. You'll believe in Electro Swing after blasting this on the buds.
